starXpress offers quality training which enables students to grow in self-confidence. The syllabus allows students to express themselves within a safe, disciplined environment and promotes learning, physical and communication skills, poise and self awareness.

The classes are divided into four age groups, ensuring that students will practise and perform at a level of comparative age, communication and learning ability.
Twinkle Stars (2-4yrs) is simply fun! Children enjoy an hour of music-making with singing and movement being the key components of this wonderful experience. Parents are encouraged (not obliged) to take an active part.
Micro Stars (5-9yrs) enjoy three, thirty minute classes per session in dance, singing and acting in small groups.
Mega Stars (10-16yrs) have three hours of training with a 15mins social break during the session. Their training incorporates a warm up and then training in dance, singing and acting.
Star Company(?) is an Academy for those talented students of between 16 and 18 years old. This training operates more along the line of a company. Students will study singing, dancing and acting at an entry level for further education.
We limit each class to 15 in number ensuring quality and the opportunity to monitor classes carefully for individual development.

History


starXpress is bourn out of a history of performance and teaching. Andrew Hambly-Smith, founder of starXpress, worked as a professional actor/singer in both the UK and abroad; in opera, musicals (Phantom of the Opera) and TV. He is also Principal of the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts. With years of experience as a performer of the highest calibre and as a teacher of international acclaim, he has set up starXpress as a hotbed of encouragement for the artists of the future. Andrew wants to help young artists find the support and training required to survive and to thrive in the incredibly tough arena of performing arts.
With a close attachment to BAPA, starXpress can offer students the opportunity to train from (almost) cradle to stage!
